Hi everyone

Blog-img-edited-3

Welcome to my blog which will be a creative space to share my research, pedagogy and practice with anyone with a passion for creative education.  Lockdown has presented many challenges for both young people and educators.   It has been important to keep lessons fun and engaging to ensure learners feel they are still within a community of artistic practice.  With screen time rocketing I have been trying to make space for young people to move away from their screens and physically engage with the process of making.  This funky design was created by a year 10  photography student as part of my “Fruit Autopsy” challenge.  Inspired by the work of  the photographer Dan Cretu, students were invited to deconstruct and reconstruct a piece of fruit….a fun take on traditional still life.  Play is such an important part of what we do and it is through exploring materials and processes  that new ideas emerge!
