Poles Apart? Maths -v- Art
I am really excited to receive the award of the title Visiting Research Associate at the University of Chester. I did both my MA and Doctorate at Chester, and feel honoured and privileged to be working within the department of Education. The first piece of research I will be involved in is a collaborative project with Dr Sally Bamber, exploring the contradictions between art and mathematics to create inclusive spaces for learning. We will be collaboratively designing a Maths-Art project using art images to entice reluctant mathematics learners to make connections and reason in number theory. The project is designed to assist learnings who experience maths anxiety and will endeavour to present a more inclusive and imaginative experience of learning number theory.
