…And Breathe!
After a whirlwind of online learning, Google team meets and Zoom meetings, half term is upon us. It has certainly been a challenge juggling the demands of full time teaching with the responsibilities of being a mum. My eyes are hurting from too much computer time and my brain tired from waking up far too early trying to think of inventive ways of teaching through the lens of a computer screen. Feeling rather frazzled I went into work last week to supervise vulnerable and key worker students. To my delight and surprise a care package was waiting for collection with my name on. Our senior leadership team had created this gift for every single member of staff. Gestures like this show care and appreciation, which is greatly appreciated at a tricky time. I have taken the time to relax with my courtesy face and foot mask, eat the popcorn provided and cook myself a rather delicious pancake – all of which came in courtesy of Chester International School. Taking time to wind down and relax has given me the impetus to explore in more detail the problematic nature of teaching art online.
